I love wearing watches when I travel. I’m always looking for a great travel watch to help me stay on time for trains, planes, and anything else that comes along. Good news! I just received my Jord (pronounced Yode) natural wood watch, and I absolutely love it!
Jord Natural Wood Watches
First, a little about Jord watches. Jord is Swedish for “From Earth, land, or soil.” Jord incorporates natural elements into the making of its watches, like wood, metals, stone, marble, and other harder materials to fortify the watches while keeping a natural look.
Jord is an American company that makes watches and other accessories out of natural materials. They have men’s and women’s watches made from marble, stone, and exotic woods. The company is growing and offering more products by the day, so keep your eyes open for other accessories, like natural wood bags, to match your natural wood watch!
Jord watchmakers make Jord watches from the same materials as Rolex watches! They make them in the same place, with the same products. The difference in price is due solely to brand identity.
Jord’s natural wood watches are all unique because all the wood from the trees are unique! BUT Jord has no part in the participation of deforestation – at all. Some of the wood from the trees are sourced from trees that have already fallen naturally. Other of the more exotic wood comes from recycled furniture. Jord is mindful of preserving nature, so you can look good while protecting the environment.
Choosing a Jord Watch
The heaviest Jord watch is only four ounces. The quality is there without the heavy weight!
There are different natural wood watch bands you can choose from when choosing your Jord watch. Different kinds of wood pair with metals or leather for most watches, or you can choose a watch with an all wood band. Jord even has different styles of leather and wood for Apple watches!
The watches are also splash proof. They aren’t meant to be submerged, but you can wash your hands or go for a nice stroll in the rain without worrying.
Cora Polaris
There are lots of Jord watch designs to choose from, but I ended up choosing the Cora Polaris in walnut and midnight blue. It’s sleek, feminine design has sapphire crystals for numbers and a bracelet-style natural wood watch band. The open-heart dial offers a glimpse of the inner workings of the watch. I also absolutely love the Little Dipper constellation pattern of crystals on the Jord watch’s face! The Cora Polaris is a super classic timepiece.
My Cora Polaris watch is automatic; that means it is powered by ME! It doesn’t have a traditional battery. There’s a small wound spring in the inner-workings of the watch that produce kinetic energy to give the second hand a smooth, sweeping motion.
The Cora Polaris is the perfect watch for any occasion. Dress it up or down! It’s modern, classic, and suitable for many different occasions. I have worn it to work, on a date, and to the grocery store. I especially love it while traveling because it is lightweight, inconspicuous, and keeps me on time.
The natural wood watch can be dressed up with bracelets and rings and worn with a neutral color dress, or you can dress it down and wear it by itself with jeans and a t-shirt. The natural wood and beautiful midnight blue face make it one of the more versatile watches I own!
